pretty boy, who's keeping score? you've got it all and you want more.

I NEED TO STOP WATCHING "SKINS".

Nah.

I love it too much.

Photobucket

First of all, thanks to the awesome Xtine for introducing me to this equally awesome show. Congrats for passing Advertising Arts and Comm. Arts in UST, grandma. ;)

Actually, I've heard about this show before, but I thought it was like one of those CSI shows with gore and everything, but I was COMPLETELY wrong.

It never crossed my mind that it was probably a teen show... Well.

Photobucket

So anyway, Skins is about a group of sulky, sex-driven, problematic and fun-loving British teenage party animals.

Photobucket

Then again, is there a teenager out there that's NOT a sulky, sex-driven, problematic and fun-loving party animal?

So yes, they are just a bunch of regular kids, which makes it easier for us to identify with them. Moreover, they also have personal and interpersonal issues which, I think, are more complicated and heavier than some of ours.

Photobucket

Each episode is perfect. Really, I'm serious.

For the first time ever, I think there's a show that really beats Gossip Girl's ass. (I still love GG, though. I just think Skins is better because it's more realistic and it hits the heart like a bullseye).

Photobucket

They show a lot more nudity than most of the shows shown in the U.S., but it only adds little to the show's spice or appeal because the storyline, the episode plots, the characters and the dialogue are already enough reasons to watch it.

Let's discuss the characters, shall we?

Photobucket

This is Tony. At first, I thought he was the cool guy. And yes, my impression was right, but after watching a few more episodes, I became so annoyed with him because he is the essence of the word "manipulation". He's literally the nastier male version of Blair Waldorf.

Photobucket

At the end of season one, however, I finally saw a bit of his good side, so that was nice. I was shocked about what happened to him in the finale, though. I was like :O

Photobucket

This is Sid, Tony's best friend, but he's more like Tony's sidekick or puppet. He seriously reminds me of Ron Weasley. Seriously. Were they separated at birth? That I do not know.

Photobucket

Speaking of Ron W., I think Sid's like him, but the latter's more of a melancholic version of the former. I like both, anyways.

Photobucket

This is Cassie. She's the skinny "always high" girl, though I don't like restricting her in that one category. I think she's really cute and nice and sweet and Sid's a fucking loser for not waking up to see that Cassie's the one for him. But that was before. The finale was... whoa. I won't spoil here, so you have got to watch it. YOU HAVE GOT TO.

Photobucket

Oh, and I love her sense of style.

Photobucket

This is Maxxie, the tap dancing gay boy, who's also very talented in drawing. I still haven't seen his deeper side, yet, because he wasn't featured solely in an episode in season one. And by featured, I mean, he wasn't a central character in any episode of season one. He was more like a supporting character, but I think they'll feature him in season two. (I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE TORRENT TO FUCKING FINISH, DAMMIT.)

Photobucket

And this one's for the ladies. *cough*Xtine*cough*

Photobucket

This is Michelle, Tony's girlfriend, who Sid's in love with. I sometimes disagree with her decisions and "carried away" moments, but she's pretty cool.

Photobucket

I totally loved it when she broke up with Tony. I was like, "F-I-N-A-L-L-Y!!!"

Photobucket

This is Anwar, the Muslim boy who's not getting any, well, except for the Russian girl who totally looked like a porno girl! Anyway, I was so disappointed with him in the Russia episode because of the way he treated Maxxie. In the end, it was all good.

Photobucket

I can't say much about him because, like Maxxie, he was more of a minor character.

Photobucket

This is Jal. I think she's the most independent one among the girls. She's musically-inclined, playing instruments and having a music producer as a father. I think she's a very strong female who can stand up for herself.

Photobucket

Like Maxxie and Anwar, she's always in the background of major characters such as Sid and Tony, but she deserves more screen time, I think.

Photobucket

And lastly, this is Chris. I forget about this character most of the time, but it was heartbreaking to watch his episode. :( He's like the most "out there" character. He likes taking drugs, having sex, even with his psychology teacher, Angie.

Photobucket

And, yeah, he defines "party animal".

The cast just really clicks. The actors sync so well with one another. It's like watching your peers in a different view. And, another thing, they're so fresh. They bring so much life to their characters that it's really really really easy for the audience to pay attention and to like them (and maybe hate them a little when it's reasonable).

Photobucket

Overall, the show is just freakingly GREATBRILLIANTFANTASTICAWESOME.

Photobucket

I am so blessed to have watched this. Thanks again to Xtine for enlightening me. :D

SEASON TWO TORRENT, HURRY THE FUCK UP.

EDIT: After rereading this post, I finally realize that, yes, I'm officially obsessed.
